Victoria University Research

Researchers from Victoria University are meeting with 8 Computers in Homes whanau in early September to see how they use the internet, in particular use of ones identity.

"The study seeks to gain an understanding of how Kiwis share, or decide not to share, their identity information online in relationships with commercial organisations, government, friends and family, and with colleagues. In this study “online” means “any activity or service available on or performed using the Internet”, such as online shopping, watching videos online, submitting your tax form online or using Facebook."

Thanks to the Tairawhiti Computer Hub Trust for the use of their CBD facility.

Increase of Whanau Places for 2014/15

It's official!
Gisborne and the East Coast have been lucky with an increase of whanau places for the 2014/15 year.
We have gone form 38 funded whanau in 2013/14 to 75 for this year.

That means more whanau will benefit from being part of the Computers in Homes programme.

Early in September both the Waikirkiri School Hub and the CBD Hub at the Cadet Hall will begin a new programme of 10 whanau each.

It looks like an exciting year ahead.
