Gisborne Computers in Homes in Recess

It has been a wonderful journey for the Gisborne Computers in Homes project over the last 5 years.
Unfortunately our roll outs are now finished with only some Warrant of Fitness (Rejuvenations) to complete over the next 6 months.
Hopefully in a couple of years we may be able to access more funding from Government to kick start further roll outs within Te Tairawhiti.
There is certainly a need from within the community as many whanau have contacted me since our very last roll out wanting to be part of the programme.
A group of Gisborne community based organisations are currently spearheading a proposal to create a number of Community Technology Centres throughout Gisborne. Hopefully future Computers in Homes programmes will be able to align with these centres.

It has been a privilege working with all of the Te Tairawhiti whanau and schools over this period.
Kia ora tatou.

Waikohu College - Te Karaka Primary School

A fantastic end of year prize giving was held at Te Karaka Primary with graduating CiH whanau being a big part of the ceremony. With both schools, (Te Karaka and Waikohu) combining to form a new Area School from 2011 it was also a great tribute to those past and present whanau, staff and tamariki.
