Awapuni School Graduation

Whanau who went through CiH at Awapuni School received an early Christmas present as they completed training a week before Christmas. With most connecting to WiFi Internet before the holiday period, it was a happy whanau all around to be able to get online.

Thanks to Awapuni School and trainer Doug for getting it completed before Christmas.

Computers in Homes Helps Ruatoria Whanau Go WiFi

Six whanau from Te Kura o Hiruharama who went through the Computers in Homes programme were struggling to get broadband connection. They were not within site of Gisborne.Net's WiFi network and couldn't get online. Their houses were in a pocket of Housing NZ owned properties that had trees and hills preventing a WiFi connection.
With some minimal investment between Computers in Homes and Gisborne.Net we were able to install a repeater on the Eastern Institute of Technology building. (Fortunately they already had an old forestry HT power pole on site). The building was owned by Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou and leased by EIT. Thanks to all of the parties who gave their approval, we were able to work together and provide WiFi access to those CiH whanau.

Tolaga Bay Area School Graduation

A fantastic day for 18 Uawa whanau as they complete their Computers in Homes programme with a graduation.
All attended and it was a graduation of celebration with whanau looking forward to taking their computers home.

Most will connect with WiFiConnect Ltd who has partnered with Tolaga Bay Area School to launch a Tolaga Bay WiFi network through the schools Fibre Optic cable.

Big thanks to Richard Tuhaka for being the programmes trainer.
Well done whanau, we hope you all enjoy your new computer and Internet experience. Tolaga Bay Area School Graduation on PhotoPeach
